Several times this month men have cut up the dream yachts they were building and sold us all the hardware and parts. They foolishly purchased tens of thousands of dollars worth of parts, electronics sailing gear etc. years before their launching dates. Items of interest in Minney's Mariner's Museum include the ship's bell from a USN Destroyer that was at the invasion of Normandy, a life ring that was found by beachcombers in Baja that says "Goodwill" Los Angeles, turn of the century gas engines and outboard motors, photos of famous Newport Beach sailors, a knot board by chief bosun's mate of the heavy cruiser Indianapolis, huge collection of authentic ship's wheels, life rings, running lights, compasses, shipwrights tools, old charts, etc. etc.   Admission is free !





         

 

New Surplus And Used Electronics...

Having a store next to Newport Harbor I get hundreds of good used electronics each year.  Usually I wholesale them off to guys that make a living selling on e-bay etc.  It seems that when a skipper purchases a local boat, the first thing he does is put aboard all new electronics and his used ones end up in my store.  Displayed are three items that I pulled out of the back room that perhaps you would be interested in?  We do not test these electronics, some may not be returned and some may.  It's a bit of a gamble on your part but the odds of winning a great buy are 1000% better then Vegas...ALL ITEMS LISTED ON THIS POST ARE SOLD

As you can see, everyone had a great time.  Lots of sellers went home with their pockets BULGING with CA$H.  Lot's of buyers got some pretty FANTASTIC buys.  Balboa Yacht Club sold every item they brought and I secretly think they went home with about 10K?  Tons of fishing gear, portlights, small generators, electronics...I'll shut up and let the pictures do the TALKING !!
