ADDITIONAL 50% OFF SMALL BOAT SAILS !!!!!

We just finished measuring over 100 small boat sails.  Cal-20's -- Lido 14's -- 4-20's --Etchell 22-s -- Thistle's -- Snipe's -- Prindle Cat's -- Catalina 27's -- Lehman 12's -- Cal-25's -- 505's -- and dozens of others.  They are all tagged and measured and priced at our very modest prices.  To be honest, we're running out of room to store them?  From now till April 15th we are going to give an additional 50% off in an attempt to thin down our inventory.  They are not on-line yet and won't be until after the 15th. Call or e-mail us what you are interested in and we'll search the pile and get back to you.  Our every day customers are already swarming to this pile of sails as if it were a giant "Easter Egg Hunt!!"  You must pay the shipping and there will be no refunds or returning of the sails.  Don't ask for a lot of pictures either.  We have limited man power and a great reputation of being straight shooters.  We get back only 5% of the sails we send out so there's a 95% chance you will satisfied with what we send you.  Have a great week.  P.S.  Our "hit" counter is at about 99,300?  It will be fun to see what happens when we hit the 100,000 mark?  The 3 tags pictured are less another 50%!!  Thus that set of Snipe sails in only fair condition will be $47.50.  The Etchells 22 mainsail in like new condition will be less than $250.00 and the 4-20 mainsail in very good condition will be $97.50.

FREE MINNEY'S BASE BALL CAPS !!!

We still have a few of the Lewmar 30's and 40's left.  Match the part numbers up with the Lewmar on-line catalog to get the specs.  Also it's a good idea to see what Amazon and the on-line guys are charging for the same winch?  Do your homework and you'll prove to yourself that we're about $300.00 per winch under those guys that probably don't even know what the winch is for? This is a ONE TIME deal and probably can never be duplicated again.  We'll pay the shipping to the lower 48 till the end of April just to sweeten your purchase a little more.

Now to the fun!  If you scroll to the bottom of my BLOG you will see that we are going to hit 99,000 hits sometime today?  I'm pretty proud of that and to kinda celebrate and thank you skippers for checking the BLOG and actually purchasing items from us (we're approaching $40,000.00 on the Lewmar winch purchase we pulled off before Christmas !!!) I have 100 of the popular "MINNEY'S YACHT SURPLUS" baseball caps like the one pictured above (that one has a lot of miles on it, the new ones will look much better) that I want to give away.  We will start mailing out the hats when the BLOG hits 100,000.  All you have to do is e-mail the store and give us a correct mailing address.  But remember, no hat goes out til we hit 100,000 and we will accept no addresses before the 100,000 mark.  Have a great week.  Ernie and the crew at Minneys.  P.S.  You can have your hat any color as long as it's RED.  Also, you guys out of state, we'll take your addresses but if the postage is over $10.00, you ain't getting a hat!!!

40% OFF THE SAILS IN MY PATIO !!!!!

I'm putting this little BLOG together and looking out the window watching the start of the Newport Beach to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico yacht race.  Wind is light, our local paper stated there will be over 30 boats and that most of them are using this race for a tune up for the upcoming Trans Pac.  Now to business.  That Farr 40 main is close to new.  We stole those Riveria engine room exhaust blowers and so can you.  They are 24 volt and brand new out of a crate.  We won't pack and ship them, you gotta pick them up at the store.  Those lapstrake classic sailing dinghys are out of an estate.  One of them is a Dyer Dhow.  Would be great for a restaurant or possibly a museum?  Those 7 big sails are in my patio and I want them out.  They are off Roy Disney's "Pyewacket" and "Windward Passage" Possibly might be one off the German race boat "Morning Glory".  Till the end of the month I'll knock of an additional 40%!!!  Also, we won't pack and ship.  You gotta arrange your own transportation.  A couple of them weigh about 400 lbs and four of us can barely move it.  My neighbors are complaining about the looks of my patio.  Two of them across the street are 2nd story homes that look right into my cliff side sail warehouse.  Have a nice weekend......Ernie

BIG DACRON SAILS !!!!!

BIG Dacron sails.  We have a complete suit of sails off the 70' Lapworth cutter "Driver".  It looks as if the owner purchased a new suit of sails from Hood about 20 years ago, used them a couple of times and then put them into storage.  The only real signs of use are some fading on the sun covers and I think a bit of work on the mainsail.  Any stains or damage to the sails looks as if it came from poor storage and moving them around.  The quote from North for a new mainsail for Alaska Eagle was $12.000.00 almost 3 years ago.  The main off Driver is about the same size.  If there is the skipper of a big boat doing charter work or about to head for Tahiti.  You might give these sails your consideration. The money you'll save, will pay for your trip.  Also, in addition to the sails I also have the entire aluminum rig off "Driver" that can be available for a little above "scrap metal" prices.  That Catalina 38 class genoa is near new. Has a bit of a large luff tape on it but can be changed for less than $400.00.  A sail that size I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. North would come in on a quote of close to $4000.00. Another 100 sails will be on-line tomorrow.

PLASTIC SAILS !!!!!!

Plastic sails!!!  We get lots of them.  Pictured are a few that we did this morning.  Not all of them are "raced out?"  That Santa Cruz 70 main new would be close to 10K.  It would make a good practice main letting you save your brand new main for race day.  Have a great weekend.  P.S.  We've still got some of the Lewmar ST Chrome Plated Bronze Alloy 2 Speed Sheet Winches in stock #30'S and #40's.  Still free shipping to the lower 48 states till April 1st.  Scroll back for more info.......

"Once you use "DAC" you'll always go back!"

Here's a nice Kevlar laminate by Elvstrom/Sobstad.  It's got lots of life left and even a white roller furling cover in very good condition.  Hard to believe that the way these plastic sails SELF-DESTRUCT so quickly that the sailmakers would design them to keep them wrapped up on a foil when not in use.  Cruisers, you don't want any part of plastic sails.  Stick with dacron and keep your sails covered when not in use and they'll last for many years.....

"We keep boating affordable"

You know, I could retire if I wanted to.  The the reason I don't, it's just too much fun working at the store.  Today was pretty typical.  We're helping a skipper with some storm sails for his 45 foot sloop he will soon be sailing to Singapore.  Another skipper came in and sold us about 200 pounds of brass and bronze pipe fittings and valves.  He owned and skippered the "Matt Walsh" a 60 foot fishing day boat that's been for 40 years plying Southern California waters.  A lady dropped by that lost her husband.
His machine shop is still in the garage.  I'll be going out to her house in the next week and tell her what she has and her options for selling the tools and machinery. Another skipper said he saw my little video on my U-Tube channel about the Lofrans "Tigress" windlass.  We discussed  the merits of the winch which he said he wants to order.  There's not a lot of status being a "junk man" but it's sure interesting and fun.  Have a great week.  P.S.  We hit the 300 mark today on great used sails added to the minneysyachtsurplus.com website.......
