A possible good value for someone? 20 KW Kohler diesel generator driven by 4 cylinder Yanmar turbo diesel. Reported to have 5500 hours when removed from local "gold plated" yacht. Generator was in good running condition when removed. It was replaced because the 65 foot yacht was totally re-powered and owner wanted a new generator also. Forget the generator and focus on the Yanmar four cylinder diesel. It alone would cost over $10,000.00!! Put a gear box on it and get another 5000 hours using it as your main engine on a 40' sailboat etc. Generator is being sold 'AS IS WHERE IS" with no warranty of any kind. $1995.00 is our FIRM PRICE. On the tag I see it's continuous rating is 26 HP. That seems low??? I have a similar engine in my boat without the turbo and it is rated at
53 HP? What gives???

your diesel engine is rated at 26 hp at 1500 rpm as shown on the nameplate. it will be more like 50 at 3000 rpm which will closer to the auxiliary engine use. the lower speed is based on the generator operating rpm and extends operating life.
