Pizza Nova makes guest dock available in Newport Beach !!!

Baja Ha-Ha skippers and other cruisers.  The manager of the Pizza Nova restaurant in the heart of Mariner's Mile in Newport Beach (and only about a half mile from Minneys) is making the largest guest dock in Newport Beach available to you to wash down your boats, top of your water tanks etc. from 0800 till 1200 on week days.  The restaurant opens at noon everyday and you must be gone by noon, unless of course you are in the restaurant having lunch. As you know, there is a free anchorage off the end of Lido Island where you can stay as long as five days.  If you don't want to bring in your big boat, this dock would be great for your rubber boat.  The manager's name is Tyler, please let him know you appreciate the hospitality his fine restaurant is extending to all of you...
P.S. The line pictured is what I call "Sea Drouge."  We spliced two one and a half inch tow bridles together so you can hook up spare line to the bridle from both sides of your boat, pay it out astern and slow your boat down in extreme conditions.  To purchase something like this you would be out about $400.00.  I've got a ton of the hollow core yacht braid bridles and am making them available at $49.00 each. Our local rigger charges $35.00 per splice so you can see you're getting one heck of a deal.  Each bridle has two eye splices and an extra chafing sleeve.

Lots Of Fun In Local Waters !!!

Here's a fun little video of my short visit to Santa Barbara Harbor, Santa Cruz Island-Santa Barbara Island and Catalina Island. You don't have to sail off to Tahiti to have fun and enjoy your boat.  We had one night at Cabrillo Marina, one night at Paradise Cove, two nights in Ventura, three nights in Santa Barbara Harbor and short stays at Santa Cruz Island, Santa Barbara Island and Catalina. My boat is a Down East 38 that I purchased TOTALLY NEGLECTED in the back waters of Huntington Harbor.  It's too bad Newport Beach can't be as boater friendly as the guys in Santa Barbara?  You tie
up in front of their office, are assigned a guest slip for about a buck a foot a day, they give you a gate key that fits close-by immaculate restrooms with showers.  Marine hardware store, restaurants, fuel dock and even a great museum are all nearby.  If you want to go downtown, for 50 cents a little trolly car will take down the water front to State St. where you can transfer, head up the hill and see the
whole town...  Hint for small sailboats going up the coast. Get early starts in the morning and motor sail to your next anchorage or marina before the westerlies kick up around 1 PM...

CABO YACHT BRAND NEW PROPELLER SHAFTS- AQUAMET 22 & 19 ...

Brand New Cabo Yacht propeller shafts !!! When Cabo moved to the East coast we purchased all the brand new shafts.  Shafts in diameter up to 1.5 inches are AQUAMET  19- Shafts 1.75  and over are AQUAMET 19.  We estimate a propeller shop would charge close to $3000.00 for one of these shafts?
We had them at $1000.00 each and have now reduced the price to $500.00 each!!!  Various lengths and diameters.  We also have a good selection of castle nuts, lock nuts and keys for these shafts.  We would also consider an ALL CA$H offer for the entire lot?  We also have some new rudders, steering shaft bearings and shaft packing glands for CABOS...

THURSDAY BEER CAN RACE-6-5-14

Summer's here and so are the "Thirsty Thursday" or what the locals call the "Beer Can"races sponsored  by Balboa Yacht Club.  Be at the dock about 5:00 PM and there's a good chance you can ride along one of the boats...This is raw footage and un-edited but if one of the boats is yours, I'm sure you enjoy checking it out under sail.  P.S.  Thanks again to all the sellers and buyers at our parking lot sale last weekend.  Things pretty went off without a "hitch" so I think the City of Costa Mesa will let us do it again?
