CAL MARITIME is a four year state college located in Vallejo, California. Their graduates pretty much run the marine industry on the west coast. If your kid is starting to think about college, perhaps he should look into CAL MARITIME. I don't know what it's like now but Cal Maritime was notorious for it's brutal hazing of first years. This might be slightly justified at the military academies where one learns to obey orders however stupid but not appropriate for the maritime service
