We're a bit dis-organized and "hokey" but we KEEP BOATING AFFORDABLE and out customers are continually THANKING US for keeping our little store in operation.  P.S.  That cool looking Mercury outboard motor is SOLD.  It's going to a good friend of my brothers.

The Mercury engine was my brother's.  It was the focal point of his living room for over 20 years.  Friends have removed the case and say that there are parts missing.  It is sold more as a collector's item than a running engine.  It is being sold as is where is without any kind of warranty.  Have a great weekend.  The crew at Minneys...Invertek is brand new and has no warranty.  Radar appears brand new also no warranty. Stanchion set for Atkin ketch was never installed.  They were for the free boat we posted a couple of weeks ago.  I received and e-mail from a man that says he now owns the free
boat and intends to put it back together.  Also, we have one Lewmar 40 chrome bronze that has been sitting for 10 years.  We'll let it go for $495.00, it is brand new and you should probably flush it out and re-lubricate it.  Also, a boat dealer took off a Harken 40 from a new boat.  Todays price, $795.00...

Log cabin and "Dream Barn" 30 minutes from Aspen airport FOR SALE...

I find that I am spending more time on my boat than in Colorado.  I've put 5 years of hard work on what I call "Honker Haven".  I've been averaging 40 days on skis and perhaps the new owner will let me rent the care-taker's unit or barn during the ski season.  It's an easy 30 minute drive to Snow Mass and Buttermilk and about 45 minutes to Aspen or Highlands.  Property is in the town of Carbondale which is one of the coolest yet progressive towns in Colorado.  Everything you see in the video and lots more goes with the property.  It's a magical place with the world's greatest neighbors.  They even let me adjust the level in the lake nearest the house and allow me to do the landscaping on the other side of the fence so nothing blocks my fantastic view of the wildlife and ponds.  Shane Real Estate in Aspen has and exclusive listing so contact Richard Duddy or Wendy Lucas if you have any interest? Land Ho !!!

This is the last short video of my summer cruise in the waters off Southern California.  Boat is a Down East 38' sloop.  This is my first fiberglass boat.  I've always played with big older wooden boats, mostly schooners and one monster 100' teak wood ketch built in Scotland.  I'm scaling down, and this little boat seems just about right for me.  It's great with just 2 people aboard.  I can hardly imagine 4-5 or 6 people for any length of time.  I'm strictly "old school"and keep the boat simple.  Pump faucets and head. Hank on headsails and slides on the mainsail, VHF and depth finder (soon will have a radar) and a Lofrans windlass which I love and just happen to be a dealer for. And I almost forgot, a Brand New Yanmar 53 HP diesel that has never missed a beat.  Have a great weekend.  Ernie

FREE 38' SAILBOAT !!!!

I just purchased all the hardware from a fiberglass Atkin 38' sailboat in Santa Ana, Calif.  Hull has never been in the water and looks very good.  Boat has sat for probably 20 years.  There is a used Mercedes diesel engine in the boat.  At the moment the owner is removing the chain plates, anchor windlass, bow pulpit etc. etc. for me.  Owner indicates that he will give the hull away if someone will move it.  It was put in a backyard with a crane and at a glance, by removing a corner of an overhanging roof it looks as if the boat could be moved by a boat mover truck.  According to the owner vessel has a lead keel that I estimate at about 6000 lbs.  Last I heard Exide battery company in Vernon was paying $1.60 per pound for lead.  Finish off the boat, or scrap it for the lead, rudder is on with some beautiful bronze hardware and there's even a spare rudder.  For an extra $500.00 I think the owner will throw in a good looking new aluminum mast that is about 55 feet long.  I have the spreaders, tangs and assorted mast hardware.  Please deal direct with the owner if you have any interest.  Call 714-342-4095 or e-mail to pcorona@verizon.net and ask about Atkin double ended sailboat.  Minneys assumes no responsibility as to the condition of the boat or what the final decision of the owners as to whether they will give it away for having it moved or not.  These are VERY NICE people closing out the estate of a loved one.  Ernie Minney

A fun little video of our voyage from Los Angeles harbor to the Isthmus at Catalina island then around to Catalina harbor on the backside of the Isthmus.  We spend a few days at Cat harbor and then set
sail for the anchorage in the gunnery and bombing range on San Clemente island.  Sure glad the Navy got the word that that end of the island was open for 5 days for boaters.

I've been goofing off and just spent 2 weeks cruising around So. California in my little Down East 38' sloop.  Boat yard pictures are Angleman schooner "La Volpe" getting a bottom job, 60' S & S yawl "Olinka" getting a new cockpit and teak decks and a bow shot of the old Newport Beach sail training ketch "Argus" side tied to shipwright Wayne Ettel's big tug boat (converted to monster wood shop) in Los Angeles harbor.  Of course you all know the lovely harbor of Avalon.  Have a great Labor Day

YANMAR 4 Cylinder diesel engine......

A possible good value for someone?  20 KW Kohler diesel generator driven by 4 cylinder Yanmar turbo diesel.  Reported to have 5500 hours when removed from local "gold plated" yacht.  Generator was in good running condition when removed.  It was replaced because the 65 foot yacht was totally re-powered and owner wanted a new generator also.  Forget the generator and focus on the Yanmar four cylinder diesel.  It alone would cost over $10,000.00!!  Put a gear box on it and get another 5000 hours using it as your main engine on a 40' sailboat etc. Generator is being sold 'AS IS WHERE IS" with no warranty of any kind.  $1995.00 is our FIRM PRICE.  On the tag I see it's continuous rating is 26 HP.  That seems low???  I have a similar engine in my boat without the turbo and it is rated at
53 HP?  What gives???
